Prison Project

Did you know that there are approximately 90,000 prisoners in the United Kingdom alone, the majority of which are behind bars for drug related crimes? This creates a great opportunity for Proclaim Trust to be able to reach out to this group, with the aid of Barry's Autobiography. As you will appreciate, the cost of this is very high and that's why we're asking you to consider partnering with us on this exciting initiative. We will then be able to raise the finance to purchase books for individuals.
The aim is to raise funds so we can send the books to one Prison at a time. Outlined below are examples of the number of inmates, in selected UK Prisons, in January 2007:
- Birmingham - 1,450 men
- Featherstone - 615 men
- Middlesex - 450 women
- Hull - 1,052 men
- Kingston - 195 men
- Surrey - 347 women
- Warrington - 162 men
- Swansea - 428 men
If you or your church/organization would like to partner with us on this Project, through financially supporting one or more of the prisons listed above, or any prison not listed, then please telephone the office to gain further information on the 'bulk cost' of the books, when bought for this initiative.
