I was living in Moss Side with a woman called Lisa. She was an addict too. Lisa was 11 years older than me; she had long blonde hair and her nose was pierced - this was before it was popular. By now, things were getting out of hand.

Soon after becoming a Christian in 1995, I had an overwhelming sense that God had a specific purpose for my life, even though I didn’t know what it was. I remember saying to Alan, the church leader, ‘What is it that I can do for God’? He replied, ‘It’s not what you can do for God, it’s what God wants you to do’.

The Senior minister of the Church where Tina and I are based is called Ian Watson. Ian is also on the National Leadership Team of the AoG (Assemblies of God). Each month the NLT sends out brief e-mail messages called "communiqué" to all AoG ministers. On the 1st February, we received one from Ian called "When's Half Time"?

Many years ago when I was a drug addict, music was also a big part of my life. I remember during the time that I lived in Moss Side there was one particular band that I used the listen to called “Clanned”. Clanned are from Ireland and their sound is unique; it’s a mixture of Gaelic tones, a simplistic rhythm and ghost like vocals. The lead vocalist is called Moya Brennan.

Recently, I’ve been reading a book called 'The Jesus I Know'. This book has 39 chapters all by different authors. Each writer gives their own perspective on the Jesus they know, using approximately 2000 words.
