Restoration, Restoration
I don’t really play computer games, but I have heard that there is a game on the market called ‘Flight Simulator’.
In this game, you can choose a prop plane or a Learjet, and you can depart from about 180 airports in the world. Hours of practice are required to learn the necessary skills to avoid crashing, to keep the plane in the air and to land safely. Apparently, all of the flight scenarios are very realistic. You can crash the plane into high-rise buildings. You can nose dive into the sea. The plane can break apart in midair. You can even break the sound barrier. But the greatest thing about ‘Flight Simulator’ is that the game always restores you. No matter what happens, you can start all over again. It doesn’t matter whether you crash and burn, fall apart or splash into the sea, the game always puts you back together and returns you to the runway where you can fly again.
When I think about this, God can do a similar thing with you. No matter what mess you may have got yourself into, God is able to restore you to the place where you once were. He places you back on the runway, ready to take off again.
Soon after becoming a Christian a woman gave me a greetings card that had some words written inside. They were taken from the Bible. As I read them, I realised that this was God speaking to me. Maybe God wants to say the same 25 words to you today?
'I will restore you the years that the locust have eaten, the great locust and the young locust, the other locust and the locust swarm.'
